Our tracking data is a continuously updated aggregate of well-respected national polls.

The Republican Primary Models track Giuliani, McCain, Thompson, and Romney. The models attempt to project national popularity ahead of the Iowa caucus on January 14, 2008. DailyWrit’s full calendar of the 2008 Primaries, Caucuses, and Conventions can be found here.

Our first Republican model is a short-term graph that shows how the GOP frontrunners have been performing since April 4th of this year. Our newly added trendlines clearly demonstrate that Giuliani (R-NY) and McCain (R-AZ) have taken a major hit in the polls since the entrance of Fred Thompson (R-TN). This model can be found below (click graph to enlarge via lightbox):

The second Republican model is a long-term graph that shows how the same candidates have performed since early November of 2006. The trendlines show that McCain, who was once tied with Giuliani, has been losing steam. This model can be found below (click graph to enlarge via lightbox):
