Our tracking data is a continuously updated aggregate of well-respected national polls.

The General Election Model tracks how the current party frontrunners would fare against one another in a hypothetical election. Our current Democratic Tracking indicates that the presumptive nominee is Senator Clinton (D-NY), while our Republican Tracking shows former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to be leading among GOP candidates.

The data models potential voters’ responses to the question “If the 2008 Presidential Election were to be held today, and the nominees were Hillary Clinton the Democrat and Rudy Giuliani the Republican, who would you vote for?” Our graph can be found below (click the graph to enlarge via lightbox):

Giuliani vs. Clinton Graph (Updated July 5) from DailyWrit

The trendlines show that Giuliani, who once held a formidable lead against Mlle. Clinton, is slipping. Beginning around June 10, pollsters began finding (almost universally) that voters preferred Clinton to Giuliani.

If you are looking to save a copy of this graph or you are just curious about my data, the excel file DailyWrit uses for all of our Election 2008 Coverage can be found here as a .xls file: DailyWrit Polling Data (Updated July 5).
