I apologize for the long delay between posts. The last few days have been void of real news but the week coming up is sure to entertain. We’ve been talking about how the school-board cases and free speech cases have been put off until the end and this week is that week. There are 8 cases remaining on the docket and a few should be released Monday or Tuesday and the remainder on Thursday.

As it stands right now, this term has been an overwhelming victory for conservatives. After being let down by David Souter and to some degree Anthony Kennedy, the conservatives have finally reaped the benefits of appointing people they like. Justice Ginsburg and the liberal block have to win the school-board cases in order to have any chance of salvaging this term. Once the cases come down, we’ll be able to take a thorough look at the entire session and see just how conservative this court has become.
