I recently found out about the Congressional Food Stamp Challenge. A few members of Congress have decided to go on food stamps for an entire week to raise awareness about the insufficient resources that currently go into the food stamp program. James P. McGovern (D-MA), Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO), and two others have both been living off of $3 a day for the past week.

Apparently, one of the congressmen in the challenge had part of his food taken up at an airport, theoretically leaving him foodless for 2 days.

I think this whole program is amazing and I’m a little upset that I didnt hear about it earlier. Whoops?
